In an Amish-built barn near Cayuga Lake, Glenhaven Farm Winery samples and sells grape and berry wines. The options range from dry to sweet, and visitors may taste the lineup for free.
Owner John Tamburello and his family rely on leased vineyards and purchased grapes to support the production of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Vidal Blanc and Gewurztraminer. The blueberries used for wine come from their own meticulously tended 11 acres, which also serve as a u-pick destination in the summer.
Tasting room hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday during blueberry season, which generally runs from late July to late August or early September. Call ahead for late-season hours.
Accessibility: Fully accessible.
Tasting fee: None.
Amenities: Product line includes grape and berry wines. U-pick blueberries on site. The winery samples and sells its lineup on Saturdays during the summer and fall at the Ithaca Farmers market.
