Located on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario in the small town of New Haven, Hurlbut Apple Orchards was established in 1928 on 130 acres of rolling farmland.
The Hurlbut family Leroy, Pat and sons Leon and Craig took advantage of an abundance of fruit and entered the retail wine business. Ashley Lynn Winery focuses efforts on apple wines, several of which are blended with other fruits.
The wine is pressed, aged, blended and bottled at the Route 104 farm market, where visitors can taste samples.
The company also has a farm market on Seneca Lake that is operated by Pattie and Leroy Hurlbut.
The winery is named for the Hurlbuts' granddaughter.
