Port, Sherry and sparkling wine from Pleasant Valley Wine Co. in Hammondsport, Steuben County, comprise most of the options at Caywood Vineyards in Caywood, Seneca County. Visitors sample the lineup at a bar made from repurposed redwood and oak wine barrels.
Some of the bubbly wines bearing the label of Pleasant Valley (http://www.pleasantvalleywine.com/), Caywood’s owner and parent of Seneca Harbor Wine Center in Watkins Glen, Schuyler County, include spumante, a rose brut and Millennium, another brut made from Chardonnay grown on Seneca Lake.
The fortified wines range from Madeira and Marsala to tawny Port and vanilla cream Sherry a satiny sipper that clocks in at 18 percent alcohol.

Tasting room hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, from May through October. Open weekends and certain weekdays in November and December; open certain weekends, from January through April.
