With more than 100 acres under vine and more than 20 vintages in the books, Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars in Lodi, Seneca County, produces a range of red, white, sparkling and dessert wines. Wine buffs often buzz
about the single-vineyard Rieslings, a sub-$25 lineup produced from small and select lots of fruit.
Tastings occur inside the winery’s Greek revival-style headquarters, which offers a 25-mile view of Seneca Lake and the remains of a 19th-century steamboat landing. The winery runs tours of the single
vineyards, followed by a tasting of already released examples and local cheese.
Tasting room hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Reservations suggested for groups of eight or more.
Tasting fee: $4 for six samples; $3 refunded if a purchase is made. $2 per pour to sample sparkling, dessert and library wines; nonrefundable. $5 for single-vineyard flight. $12 per person for single-vineyard tour,
with wine and cheese; $15 for two people. Call for price on chocolate lover’s flight.
