Launched in 2012, Starkey’s Lookout in Dundee, Yates County, features a winery and microbrewery under one roof. The Seneca Lake operation also serves food, produces its own soda and programs live music on Friday nights in the summer.
The winery has two labels: SenecaHayes Wine Cellars and Twisted Screw Wine Co. The latter is for the sweeter table wines, the former for the dry wines.
Options include Riesling, Vignoles, Cabernet Franc and a blend of Baco Noir and Rougeon.
GC Starkey Beer Co. presently has eight products, including a Belgian amber and a raspberry wit. The lineup also has root beer and orange cream soda made on the premises.
Co-owners Dave Bunnell and Dr. Olaf Lieberg, both of Geneva, have set aside 11 acres on the property for growing grapes and hops one day.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday year-round. Extended hours on Friday nights in the summer. Reservations required for groups of 8 or more. No buses after 1 p.m.
